Glocal = Thinking globally, but acting locally 🌍
At "Snack GLOCAL," we invite local players from all over Japan and around the world to become snack bar owners!
This event offers an exciting yet welcoming atmosphere, like stepping into a deep, local bar. 🎉
In the "Meet up glocal talk session," five speakers from Kotohira Town in Kagawa Prefecture—Ms. Kishimoto, Ms. Ike, Ms. Urushihara, Ms. Kusunoki, and Ms. Omi—will share the charms of Kotohira from a "glocal" perspective. 🎙✨
During "Snack Time," the Kotohira members mentioned above will act as one-day managers of a snack bar, casually interacting with guests while offering local snacks. Drinks will also be available on a cash-on-delivery basis.
Even if it's not your hometown, if you're interested in the place or consider it your second home, please feel free to join us! Calling all Kotohira lovers!

What is Kotohira?

Population: 7,907, Area: 8.47 km², Aging rate: 41%
As a temple town for "Konpira-san," one of the prefecture's leading tourist destinations, it is a town that weaves together history and culture, and the "Konpira Onsenkyo" hot spring resort is an important base for accommodation and sightseeing in Kagawa Prefecture and Shikoku. Although it is a small town, it has two train stations (JR and Kotoden), direct buses from Takamatsu Airport, and express buses from Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, so it is blessed with good access.
However, the number of tourists has generally been on a downward trend since the opening of the Seto Ohashi Bridge (1988), and what is needed is not a recovery from the pandemic, but rather regional innovation spurred by the pandemic.
The theme is " A town you'll want to visit many times in your life ."
What are they doing in Kotohira Town?

Towards becoming a mecca for digital nomads… Focusing on Kotori Coworking & Hostel Kotohira, Kotohira Claska, and HAKOBUNE Hostel Cabin, which are scheduled to open this spring, we are working to improve the environment for welcoming digital nomads and nomad workers from both Japan and overseas, and are developing accommodation programs.
〇 Community-wide Hotel Project… With the theme of revitalizing the shopping district, five vacant houses will be renovated into a guesthouse, a bagel shop, and a Japanese tea cafe. Scheduled to open in December 2024.
Kotohira Digital Town Residents… As a complementary tool for creating fans, repeat visitors, and people with connections to the area, a tourism CRM has been launched in collaboration with private businesses.
...and so on.
