KOZAROCKS is an urban conference that began in July 2022, coinciding with the opening of the Koza Startup Shopping Street. The setting is Koza, a town that once flourished as a gateway to a U.S. military base and where a unique culture, a blend of national influences, still thrives today.
Through a variety of content, including talk sessions, startup pitches, and networking parties featuring challengers from various fields such as cutting-edge technology, creators, entertainment, politics, economics, startups, and small businesses, we will deliver encounters that can lead to new innovations.

The KOZAROCKS 2023 Summer Executive Committee will host "KOZAROCKS 2023 Summer," an urban startup conference that will bring together challengers and innovators who are poised to create a new wave in the Japanese economy, on September 2, 2023, at the Koza Startup Shopping Street, a rapidly growing hub of the startup ecosystem in Okinawa Prefecture.
Something is bound to happen at this meeting – the first ever pitch event will also be held simultaneously.
This conference is being held for the third time. In the past, it has attracted over 1,000 speakers and participants from various backgrounds, including startups, venture capital firms, established companies, and financial institutions, all striving to grow their startups. Through the learning sessions and networking events, it has fostered the seeds of new innovation.
Furthermore, as a first-time initiative, the startup pitch event "KOZAROCKS PITCH AWARD" will be held concurrently. Ten companies in total—five from Okinawa Prefecture and five from outside the prefecture—will participate, competing under global standards with a judging panel including Yoichi Aso, President and CEO of AlphaDrive Co., Ltd., and other entrepreneurs and venture capitalists from within and outside the prefecture. The winning company will receive the right to occupy space in the Koza Startup Shopping Street, priority consultation with venture capitalists, and various other benefits from sponsoring companies.
Furthermore, during the event, Okinawa City will host a city-wide hospitality event in conjunction with the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, making it the perfect time to experience a blend of sports and business excitement.
Anna Makino from Okinawa Actors School and House of Representatives member Masaaki Taira have been confirmed to appear!
