Linnas Design Co., Ltd., the operator of S-TOKYO, has launched the Kanazawa Culture and Tourism Revitalization Project in collaboration with Yugyo Co., Ltd., C and H LLC, Pasona Inc., the City of Kanazawa, and others. This initiative aims to create an environment to attract international remote workers, or "digital nomads," while fostering innovation in the region.
As part of this effort, a two-week residency program for digital nomads was held from November 21 to December 4.
Linnas Design also operates LINNAS Kanazawa, a hotel in Kanazawa, which served as the main hub for this program.

11/22: Welcome Party @ Kenroku-tei
The welcome party was held at Kenroku-tei, located within one of Japan's top three gardens, Kenrokuen.During the event, four local companies gave presentations about their businesses, sparking lively discussions.
11/26: Business Visit
The program included a visit to Nozaki Bussan, a company specializing in confectionery ingredients. Participants learned about their innovative products and initiatives. Discussions also focused on packaging design for souvenir products, paving the way for potential collaborations with digital nomads.

Participants visited Kenroku-tei, where they experienced a traditional tea ceremony activity. The digital nomads provided feedback on both the marketing and the content of the activity, offering valuable insights for improvement.
11/27: Day Trip to the Noto Area (Business Visits & Disaster Site Inspection)
The itinerary included stops at OKUNO to Bridge, Suzunari Shokudo, Blue Cave, Susu Shrine, and Sougen Sake Brewery.
Participants met with local business owners to learn about the challenges and recovery efforts following natural disasters. Discussions covered the region's issues and opportunities, followed by a Q&A session to exchange ideas.
11/28: Kanazawa University Class Visit
The group joined a tourism studies class taught by Mr. Ryosuke Osera from Yuko Co., Ltd.Molly, a digital nomad and artist/illustrator, shared her experiences of traveling the world for eight years as a guest speaker.
Kanazawa University students engaged with Molly and other digital nomads, discussing topics such as the differences between digital nomads and traditional travelers, as well as the societal impacts of digital nomads.
11/29: KOGEI Art Fair @ Hyatt Centric Kanazawa & 21st Century Museum Tour
Participants were invited to the KOGEI Art Fair, Japan’s only art fair dedicated to traditional crafts.They also toured the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, with a private guide by one of the museum’s curators.
Beyond the planned activities, participants bonded through shared everyday moments, such as coworking sessions and group workouts, fostering meaningful relationships.
We’re already planning next year’s coliving program in Kanazawa. To the S-TOKYO team and all digital nomads, let’s create another enriching experience together in Kanazawa!
