Okano Valve Manufacturing Co., Ltd., founded in 1926 (Taisho 15), is headquartered in Moji Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
We have been involved in the manufacturing, sales, and maintenance of valves for nuclear and thermal power plants.
However, sales plummeted after the 2011 earthquake and nuclear accident.
I've come to realize that "you can't protect the future with just one strength."
However, new ideas are hard to come by within the company.
That's why we chose to venture out into the world and meet people from different fields.
That crossing of boundaries triggered a chemical reaction, and new businesses began to take root.
From this experience,
I realized that "those who have mastered their craft need a place where they can take a new step forward."

Colorful and comfortable chairs create a relaxing, cafe-like atmosphere. Meetings can also be held using a whiteboard and a large monitor (equipped with Apple TV).
With its casual atmosphere, this space can be used for business negotiations, meetings, training sessions, and more. The relaxed environment fosters a more conducive environment for generating ideas and facilitating smoother communication.

This area allows you to concentrate on your work. It's a free-address workspace, so everyone can work as they please, like in a cafe. Please also feel free to use the large central table for meetings.

Okinawa City Koza: A City of Challenges
In 1956, Koza was a town dependent on the U.S. military base. The town's vitality was easily shaken by any restriction imposed by the base.
Amidst this situation, young people rose up to revitalize the town with their own culture, and the All-Island Eisa Contest was born.
Eventually, it grew into the "All-Island Eisa Festival," attracting tens of thousands of people, becoming a cultural tradition that has continued for over 60 years and a source of pride for the town.
In the 1970s, Koza became the stage for new challenges.
A unique music scene called "Koza Rock" emerged from rock cafes and live music venues.
It wasn't just entertainment; it was an event that gave the young people of the town a real sense of purpose, a feeling that "from here, we can take on challenges that will reach the world."
What we are currently facing is a lack of opportunities for challenges.
Young people are leaving the country, making it difficult for new cycles to emerge.
For the next 100 years, we aim to create a city that fosters a cycle of challenges and nurtures new industries and cultures.
Just as the All-Island Eisa Festival once revitalized the town through the power of culture, and Koza Rock opened the door to the world through the power of expression,
The people of Koza possess a spirit of challenge that can leave a world-changing impact.

Community
The Koza Startup Shopping Street, to which X-BORDER KOZA belongs, comprises business spaces such as startup support facilities, shared offices, and satellite offices of companies from outside the prefecture, as well as spaces for interaction such as shared houses for engineers, hotels for workcations, coffee shops, and social bars where unique and diverse people gather. The area, which was once a shuttered shopping street, is now bustling with activity as people with a strong sense of challenge and new ideas have gathered.
